Apollo Enclosures has added to its selection of Elite Series outdoor television enclosures by announcing its new Direct Sun products.
The Moorpark, Calif.-based manufacturer says that its latest product solution is available in a choice of 43-, 55-, 65- and 75-inch models, and the products are engineered to protect installed televisions/displays in residential and commercial environments.
Explaining how the Direct Sun products work, Apollo says that its newest enclosures add thermostatically controlled airflow within the front cover between the glass and TV to consistently move air across the installed display’s screen. The company also explains the Direct Sun products employ IR film that is laminated to the inside of the AR safety glass. This safety glass incorporates an IR nano-particle coating that maximizes optical clarity, while providing protection from heat, UV and IR rays.
According to the company, the combination of these technologies “substantially inhibit” solar loading on the LCD screen. This minimizes the potential of the screens to exhibit isotropic behavior (the screen going black), which could damage the display.
Apollo adds that its Direct Sun models also include powder-coated aluminum exteriors and anti-reflective glass to reduce glare.
The West Coast company boasts the combination of its enclosures and a high-performance display can provide cost savings over traditional direct-sun outdoor television solutions.
