Bravas, the national rollup of premier custom integrators, continues to bolster its national reach, with the company’s latest addition strengthening its support for customers in the greater Philadelphia region.
The integration firm recently announced it is expanding its Bravas Philadelphia location with the merging of Bob Turgeon and his Newtown Square, Pa.-based AV Environments team to expand the company’s efforts in that major metropolitan market. That includes southern New Jersey, where Bravas Philadelphia makes its base in Cherry Hill.
Based in Overland Park, Kan., Bravas has locations in 15 states, annual revenues of around $75 million, and a team of more than 300 professionals, including designers, engineers, installers, technicians, and programmers that have earned hundreds of industry awards and certifications.
“We have been looking to expand our presence in the Philadelphia market by offering better service and support to the Main Line area in Philadelphia,” says Jay Vandermyde, chief operating officer of Bravas.
“Dave Gilbert, Kyra Winsky and the whole Philadelphia team are thrilled to bring Bob and the AV Environments team into the Bravas family. Together we have a stronger team in the area.”

Bravas ranked No. 7 in the latest CE Pro 100 listings that came out in May, and tops among “Old-School Aces” in which CE Pro pulled out the leading 10 integrators with a more traditional custom business model.
The company over the past year-and-a-half has added presences with a new opening in Austin, Texas; and similarly keen M&A moves in Denver (Residential Systems Inc.) and San Francisco (Twilight Solutions). It joined the Azione buying group last September.
AV Environments Adds to Bravas Philly’s Hi-Fi Sales Roots
Turgeon will be running a large part of the sales function at Bravas Philadelphia, working for general manager Gilbert and assistant GM Winsky.
“Bob has been in the industry for 33 years and has a unique ability to explain the complicated in easy-to-understand terms to the client,” says Gilbert.
“Whether it’s on the Main Line or anywhere across the greater Philadelphia metro area, Bob and his team will fit beautifully into the Bravas way of doing business.”
Bravas Philadelphia has a rich history in the market from its pre-Bravas operations as Hi-Fi Sales, which was founded way back in 1979 and began doing custom install work in the 1980s. The AV Environments team brings 50+ years of experience in the industry, with a portfolio for residential and commercial jobs.
“I am excited to join the Bravas Philadelphia team to offer a more complete solution to the market,” says Turgeon. “I have a passion for serving customers and ensuring they have the best experience they can and that fits in perfectly with Bravas.”
