Denon, the venerable Sound United brand, has announced the launch of the Denon DHT-S217 full-range soundbar for affordable, high-quality streamlined listening.
The sleek DHT-S217 delivers high levels of clarity including intelligible dialog with authoritative bass response from two onboard down-firing subwoofers. For more cinematic performance, the DHT-S217 incorporates Dolby Atmos immersive audio technology for a lifelike, surround-sound experience sure to boost the experience of the latest 4K TVs.
“If you’re looking to vastly improve your TV’s built-in audio, look no further than our DHT-S217 sound bar,” says Trip Randall, Denon brand president, Sound United.
“The DHT-S217 transforms any TV into a complete home entertainment system thanks to its built-in subwoofers that pack a deep punch and powerful 3D surround sound, all at an accessible price point.”
At just 2-inches in height, the Denon DHT-S217 can be placed in front of the TV without obstructing the bottom edge of the display or it can be easily wall mounted, the company notes.
Though low-profile in design, the DHT-S217 has been optimized for performance, with the aforementioned subwoofers matched to a pair of high-performance midrange drivers and tweeters, so customers can enjoy high-quality immersive 3D audio experiences, the company says.

Denon DHT-S217 Offers Streaming Convenience, Dialog Enhancement
Listeners can also conveniently stream their favorite music to the soundbar from a smart phone or tablet via Bluetooth, Denon adds.
The DHT-S217 connects to most TVs using the supplied HDMI or optical cables, facilitating intuitive control of the soundbar volume using the TV’s remote. The HDMI’s eARC feature enables music enthusiasts to enjoy rich audio playback on the soundbar from streaming apps built into their smart TV.
Four sound modes (Movie, Night, Music and Pure) provide flexibility for listeners to choose the ideal mode for any occasion and type of audio being played.
The Pure Mode bypasses all surround processing and other adjusted characteristics for an audiophile listening experience.
The company adds that its Denon Dialog Enhancer assists in improving dialog clarity with three different modes — ideal for movies or TV content where dialog comprehension is paramount.
The Dialog Enhancer enables listeners to adjust the dialogue level without affecting overall program volume.
The $249 DHT-S217 availability will vary by region, beginning with Japan in late April, followed by all other regions in May from Denon.com and authorized Denon retailers.
