Known as the gold standard for networked audio, Dante has long been popular among commercial AV professionals but has historically lagged in adoption in the home integration market. That’s something that SoundTube seems very intent on changing with the launch of its DSM-16 Dante System Manager.
Looking at a lot of the issues residential integrators have had with implementing Dante in a home setting, the DSM-16 seeks to rectify a lot of that, offering a simplified and more reliable programming setup at a much cheaper price point than has been traditionally offered for Dante systems.
In fact, SoundTube is so confident that this system will help spark a new revolution in home audio with Dante, the company is running with the theme “Dante Comes Home” while at Booth C701 during CEDIA Expo this year. Alongside its DSM-16, SoundTube will be showcasing its complete STNet residential ecosystem of Dante-enabled products just to drive that point home, as, when with SoundTube’s IP-enabled PoE speakers, the DSM-16 becomes the center of a total Dante-enabled networked audio system.
The company has also developed two new Dante DSP amplifiers that are 4-channel at 700W or 1000W per channel that will be featured at Booth C701.
A Closer Look at the DSM-16
The DSM-16 offers support up to 16-mono or 8-stereo zones with the capability of higher channel counts for multi-channel audio or theater. According to SoundTube the system manager can fill the void for pro AV integrators between traditional 70V systems and enterprise-level audio setups, opening options for mid-size installations.

Perhaps the biggest benefit to the system is that, according to SoundTube, the DSM-16 requires no dedicated programmer to setup. It also offers advanced remote management capabilities that enable proactive troubleshooting through an easy to access web interface, which SoundTube touts can be leveraged in offering “audio-as-a-service” for clients.
The device can deliver uncompressed 24-bit/48kHz audio throughout the home or commercial space and features a rack-mountable design that also provides a variety of integration options, including 12 line-level inputs, 8 balanced inputs, 2 optical inputs, 2 coax inputs, 8 Dante inputs, 4 balanced outputs, 4 line-level outputs, and 16 Dante outputs.
Advanced control features include third-party API, GPIO ports for Logic I/O, remote volume control, and 12V trigger inputs/outputs for integration with popular automation systems including Crestron, Control4, QSC, and others.
‘Ingenious. By Design.’
SoundTube has also stated that moving forward, it will consolidating all of its brands under the SoundTube umbrella. Starting immediately, the SoundTube name will act as the umbrella brand for all residential and commercial product lines.
This means that PhaseTech, Rockustics, Induction Dynamics, dARTS, SolidDrive, and Soundsphere will live as product series under the SoundTube brand. The company will no longer be using MSE Audio in any outward communications in an effort to promote a more consistent brand identity for installers.
That being said, the company states it will still have separate sales teams and support networks for residential and commercial channels, ensuring dedicated support for each market.
dARTS, Trinnov WaveForming Demo
Visitors to booth C701 at CEDIA Expo 2024 will also have a chance to see SoundTube’s 9.8.4 Theater in action, featuring dARTS in-wall 5000 series speakers, as well as Trinnov’s newly released WaveForming software and DCB410 floor-to-ceiling linear array subwoofers.
The visual component of the theater will be provided by Draper at Home’s Acumen wireless rechargeable screen.
SoundTube states it hopes to demonstrate to visitors during the show how audiophile-grade performance can be achieved with an in-wall theater system.
“We encourage all expo attendees to seize this opportunity to witness how advanced audio processing, premium speaker systems, and innovative display technology can come together to create an exceptional home cinema experience”, said Ken Hecht, VP of SoundTube.
“Visit SoundTube at booth C701 to discover how this 9.8.4 WaveForming theater setup is redefining expectations for accessible, high-performance home audio-visual systems.
