URC, a custom electronics manufacturer that offers a range of control and entertainment solutions, has just announced its new handheld MX-1400 smart home remote control.
The N.Y.-based company states that its latest product offers homeowners voice control via Amazon Alexa or Comcast Xfinity, and the unit can be used to control products based throughout a home. The MX-1400 can be custom programmed by integrators and it can communicate via IR and RF with components to control a variety of home systems.
URC points out the new remote control incorporates a 2.4-inch capacitive touch, color LCD screen that can be customized to allow graphic placement anywhere on the capacitive-touch screen. The company emphasizes that professional integrators can also pair the MX-1400 smart home remote control with a compatible Complete Base Station such as the MRF-350 or MRF-260 to allow the remote to control devices through walls, cabinet doors or from even outdoor locations.
Explaining the remote control’s ability to devices from long distances, URC says the MX-1400’s reliable narrow-band, one-way control of IR devices extends up to 50 feet, and its RF capabilities provides a range as far as 100 feet.
URC adds that its new remote control displays up to six buttons per screen with its Free Format Customization capabilities, and through its combination of the capacitive-touch screen and hard buttons, users can easily navigate the control of their favorite components and electronic systems.
