There aren't many solutions available to augment the sound quality of smart devices outside of headphones, but the new Pro-Ject DAC Box E Mobile has been released to help solve those problems.
Pro-Ject says the DAC Box E Mobile is its first mobile audio product, and it developed the solution to improve the sound of smartphones, tablets, and computers.
The Austrian-based company, which is imported and distributed in the U.S. by Sumiko Audio, says the DAC's primary design intent is for portable devices, but users can also employ the product with computers via its USB-C input.
The portable DAC supports file formats as large as 32-bit/192kHz, and users can connect their headphones to the device's 3.5mm input.
The DAC receives power from whatever device users connect it to, and it delivers enough output to drive headphones in a range of environments, including loud surroundings to allow listeners to hear their content above high levels of ambient noise.
Pro-Ject Mobile DAC Works With Apple & Android
Android phones users can connect OTG USB micro B to USB-C cables to the DAC to use with their headphones, while Apple users can employ a Lightning to USB camera adapter, then a USB-A to USB-C cable with the DAC and their headphones.
