Coastal Source’s EVO lights are finally being made available to the CEDIA channel. After being showcased at Lightapalooza 2024, as well as an exclusive event Coastal Source held earlier this year at the Kennedy Space Center, dealers across the CEDIA channel are now able to get their hands on what Coastal Source is calling the next step forward in outdoor lighting.
A completely modular solution, the EVO line is a design-forward outdoor lighting fixture encapsulating Coastal Source’s raw durability and performance in the beauty of machined brass.
“The custom-designed, fully integrated EVO LED module is so powerful and compact it will disappear into the landscape environment when you want to see the light effect but not the fixture,” said Coastal Source CEO Franco D’Ascanio.
“At the same time, the fixture’s unique design lends itself to being featured as an artistic element in an outdoor landscape design should that be desired. EVO truly ushers in a new era of design possibilities for our partners and the customers they serve.”
EVO Lights Offer a Completely Modular Outdoor Lighting Solution
According to Coastal Source, flexibility is the name of the game when it comes to EVO. The fixture can be mounted in softscapes, hardscapes, along paths, hanging, and in-trees and features numerous shrouds, hats, risers, and accessories to allegedly create hundreds of unique fixture designs for outdoor settings.

Designers even have multiple finish options in Black and Antique Brass depending on the environment EVO is being installed in.
Because EVO uses Coastal Source’s patented Plug+Play Coastal CMC cable system installers can twist, connect and lock the cable to the speaker without having to use tools or requiring any soldering, allowing designers to order the parts individually and assemble them as needed in the field.
Alternatively, for those who suffer from options paralysis, the EVO can also be ordered as a pre-built assembly as a FLEX module.
EVO Finds a Unique Use for its Stylish Brass Housing
Outside of the flexible assembly, the EVO still seems to pack a pretty powerful punch. Compared to a 6W MR16 fixture, EVO is 50% smaller, has higher output (up to 560lm), has a wider beam angle (up to 80 degrees), has two dispersion patterns (direct and 360+), has two color temperatures (2700K and 3000K), has less glare, and improved optics.
One of the ways the fixture can do this, according to D’Ascanio, is due to its unique design, with the unit’s fully integrated LED module being based on a CREE LED. The design of the EVO also leverages its brass housing as a massive heatsink, limiting the threat of the device overheating and melting any vital components.
Of course, when the time comes to replace components, because it’s a modular piece of equipment, there’s no ordering an entire fixture. Simply buy the part that needs to be replaced and you’re good to go, which is great considering the brass housing is likely to outlast damn near everything else in the fixture.
Even still, Coastal source says the fixture carries the company’s 5-year manufacturer warranty, while the brass housing itself comes with a lifetime warranty.
It’s also IP-68 rated, meaning it can stand up to some pretty intense weather conditions.
EVO Light Price and Availability
Currently, EVO lights are available for sale at an MSRP of $395.00 per fixture. Attendees to CEDIA Expo 2024 will also be able to see the lights on display alongside other new Coastal Source products such as the CUBE and Pathfinder speakers at booth #3533.
