Outdoor audio and lighting powerhouse Coastal Source is launching the CUBE, an audiophile-quality outdoor subwoofer designed to give installers the ability to create a three-dimensional listening experience while blending the technology into a landscape.
CUBE is making its debut this week at Audio Advice Live 2024 in Raleigh, N.C. It will also be featured at CEDIA Expo 2024 in Booth #3533 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver.
Coastal Source CEO Franco D’Ascanio says CUBE is designed to bring audiophile-quality bass from a compact shape that blends into any landscape and can withstand harsh environments.
“We use the most highly engineered materials to ensure that the product will perform for years and years,” D’Ascanio boasts.
“Whether harmonizing with the visual environment or reshaping the bottom of the music they love, CUBE is designed to make the homeowner feel more at home in the listening room without walls that is the heart of their outdoor lifestyle,” D’Ascanio says.

CUBE Features and Compatibility
The subwoofer lives up to its name due to its small 16-inch cube-shape design, but it also features a 350-watts of power, a 10-inch bass driver. It can be mounted on hardscapes or softscapes for flexible installation without needing to dig. The CUBE also comes in two stone finishes: travertine or granite.
Coastal Source further says the CUBE is designed to integrate into any Coastal Source Plug&Play audio system, singling out the Razor, Contour, 8.0 Mini Ellipse Bollard, 10.0 Ellipse Bollard Satellite, or the 10.0 2-way Ellipse Bollard. CUBE comes with vibration-reducing rubber feet designed to ensure the subwoofer stays put and doesn’t vibrate against the hardscape even when it is driven to the highest power levels.
According to Coastal Source, CUBE uses a color-through roto mold composite material for the enclosure, and the subwoofer cone is made of fiberglass and the surround is made of high-quality santoprene thermoplastic elastomer designed to resist temperature extremes, UV, and water. The subwoofer also carries the company’s five-year manufacturer’s warranty.
CUBE uses the Plug&Play™ Coastal Source UniConnect 8C cable and connector system that enables installers to quickly twist and lock one cable onto the subwoofer without tools or soldering. With the Coastal Source Cap Switch, the installer can quickly invert the phase 180-degrees to optimize the sound performance of any subwoofer location, the company says.
