LG’s 2024 plans to showcase its 2024 TV lineup at CES 2024 in Las Vegas next week, and the company’s booth will be highlighted by new OLED and QNED TVs powered by LG’s latest AI processors designed to enhance picture and audio quality and overall processing speed. Just before the New Year, the company also announced its 2024 soundbar lineup, which it will also be showcasing at CES 2024.
OLED: AI performance, Wireless TV
According to LG, its OLED TV lineup are equipped with the latest AI processor leading to a 4-fold higher AI performance. The AI-powered processor, the Alpha 11 AI processor, was designed exclusively for OLED TVs and is featured in LG’s OLED M4 and OLED G4 TVs and lead to a 70% improvement in graphic performance and a 30% faster processing speed compared to its predecessor, the company says.
Specifically, the OLED TVs come with upgraded AI upscaling utilizing precise pixel-level image analysis, to effectively sharpen objects and backgrounds that may appear blurry, the company says. The processor also refines colors by analyzing frequency used shades designed to convey the mood intended by the content creators.
The Dynamic Tone Mapping Pro splits pictures into blocks and fine-tunes brightness and contrast by analyzing variations in brightness where light enters the scene, creating images that look more three-dimensional, the company says.
Featured in the company’s 2024 OLED lineup is the LG SIGNATURE OLED M4, LG’s wireless OLED TV that is now available in a 65-inch size. It also comes in sizes up to 97 inches. The wireless model features LG’s Zero Connect Box, which eliminates all connected cables.

LG says the M4 is the world’s first TV with wireless audio and video at up to 4K 144Hz.
In addition to image enhancements, the AI Sound Pro feature leverages the build-in speakers’ 11.1.2 surround sound and separates vocals from soundtrack to enhance clarity of dialogue and elevate the audio as if it were coming from the center of the screen.
LG’s latest OLED evo models gain further credibility for their picture quality with the Video Electronics Standards Association’s (VESA) ClearMR certification, according to LG.
LG is also highlighting its new OLED TV gaming capabilities, including a 4K 144hz refresh rate, HDMI 2.1 features, gaming presets for different genres, and support for NVIDIA G-Sync Compatible and AMD FreeSync to eliminate tearing and stuttering.
The company’s new OLED lineup also features the latest version of its webOS platform, which allows users to create up to 10 individual profiles. The technology also features voice recognition based on profiles and other personalized recommendations.
Users can customize the Home screen and set up personalized settings to access favorite services and content right from the Home screen. Users can adjust the image quality to their liking and see a preview of their most recently watched content.
LG is also offering the latest webOS upgrade to existing smart TV owners, applying to 2022 OLED TV models and 2022 QNED Mini LED 8K models. In the future, the upgrade will be expanded to more LG TV products.
The 2024 OLED TVs can interact with smart home devices supporting Matter, and also feature Apple AirPlay and Google Chromecast built in. The TVs also easily pair with LG soundbars through, and the TV’s built-in speakers can be configured to work in harmony with a soundbar.
QNED: New 98-inch screen
Meanwhile, LG’s QNED TV lineup also features AI processing, but with the Alpha 11 AI processor that leads to a 1.3-fold increase in AI performance, a 2.3-fold enhancement in graphic performance, and a processing speed that is 1.6 times faster.
Sharing many similar image quality enhancement options to the OLED TVs, LG’s 2024 NED TVs feature the company’s Quantum Dot and NanoCell color technologies for crisp and vivid picture quality.
The TVs also feature precision dimming and local dimming for accurate blacklight control and vivid contrast and brightness. In addition, the QNED Mini LED TV QNED90 model features Million Grey Scale that differentiates between shades of gray and represents gradation with a 20-bit accuracy, the company says.
The TVs feature a slim profile of only 29mm, allowing them to be mounted on the wall and blend into any environment.
Like the OLED TV models, LG is also bringing its webOS upgrade to QNED Mini LED 8K models launched in 2022, including the QNED99 and QNED95 series. It will also come to additional models in the WQNED lineup soon.
The TVs, also equipped with the latest webOS software, come in a new 98-inch size, as well as 43, 50, 55, 65, 75 and 86-inch screens.
