Debuting in the new DB12, Aston Martin drivers will be able to enjoy the newly developed Bowers & Wilkins Surround Sound System in their cars for the first time, as two British brands announce a new audio partnership.
Bowers & Wilkins’ and Aston Martin’s engineering teams worked together to develop an optional surround sound system upgrade for the DB12 super car. Taking technologies and design elements found in Bowers & Wilkins’ loudspeakers and audio products, the car’s bespoke system has been acoustically engineered to deliver a high-resolution listening experience.
The global audio company explains the DB12’s optional audio system features proprietary technologies such as aluminum double dome tweeters and Continuum midrange drive units that Bowers & Wilkins says, give this 15-speaker, double amplified 1,170-watt surround sound system a balanced and accurate sound.
According to Bowers & Wilkins, the immersive quality of the high-end performance audio system is achieved by perfect location, direction and symmetry of the speaker positions, which have been meticulously built into the interior of the DB12.
Both companies state the DB12 with its optional immersive audio system were launched at a premiere during the Cannes International Film Festival on May 24 2023. Bowers & Wilkins and Aston Martin continue by noting the DB12’s core values of performance and luxury are spearheading the car maker’s next generation of sports cars by heralding a new era that will see all Aston Martin models characterized by prodigious performance, seamless integration of advanced technologies and the style and craftsmanship for which the brand has earned its reputation.
