Digital Music

Sure, digital audio files are easier to manipulate, distribute, copy, etc. But do they sound better?

There is certainly more clarity in digital music. I recall Paul McCartney saying how much he hated hearing The Beatles’ music on digitally remastered CDs because he could now hear every mistake the band made while recording.

But many audiophiles revere their turntable and LPs, remarking that there is a deeper resonance in the music that has been lost with the advent of digital music. Could it be nostalgia talking or is listening to a record album the real deal?

Not all audiophiles are pony-tailed geeks. I still have about 300 albums that I listen to somewhat regularly.
