Ceton: One Cable, Six Streams

It takes a lot of real estate to pack six Digital Cable Tuners (DCT) into a Windows Media Center PC – the kind of real estate we really don’t have.

The forthcoming Multi-Channel Cable TV Card from Ceton delivers up to six HD cable streams from a single cable connection.

At CEDIA, Microsoft demonstrated a small-form-factor PC with four active tuners on a Ceton card.

The solution will be built into certain PCs, and will also be available as a retail standalone product – thanks to Microsoft’s lifting of the OEM requirements for CableCard.

The four-tuner solution should be available in Q1 2010, followed by two- and six-channel products.
