While the new Aquos BD-HP52U will begin shipping in October, Sharp expects Netflix streaming to be available by November. “We’re in the midst of signing a contract with Netflix,” said spokesperson Melissa Non.

Models that ship in October will be able to get the Netflix “watch instantly” feature through an update, while the ones that ship after the contract is signed will be Netflix-ready.

The BD-HP52U supports BD Live and features an RS-232 port. The BD-HP52U also offers Dolby TrueHD, DTS HD Master Audio via HDMI digital output and decodes Dolby Digital Plus.
