Keeping Cool in a Theater

With a potential for 4000 watts of amp power in a small closet, I was very concerned about heat. I was able to run the system with only a small Panasonic bathroom fan in the ceiling on a thermostat to draw heat to an adjacent storage room. The racks themselves are passively cooled by drawing air only at the bottom of each rack and exiting at the top of the rack like a chimney.

By over specing the amount of rack space needed, I was able to space out the components better for cooling, balanced aesthetics and future equipment additions. We wanted a totally built in look, without hiding the equipment.

So we framed the rack like a door, and the custom panel options really helped bring this together.
