The T2-C from Remote Technologies Inc. (RTI) is an installer’s best friend, says Kent Giebelhaus, Mountain Technologies Corp., Calgary, Alberta.

The remote’s 35 hard keys “provide immediate functionality for the most common buttons,” he says. “With simple programming, the [TFT LCD] touchscreen can be configured with custom buttons/icons for more obscure activity and function control,” he adds.

“The T2C is not just an entertainment system remote,” Giebelhaus explains. “Using the advanced design tools and unique control icons the remote can provide operation of lighting, draperies, HVAC systems and even irrigation.”

The simple design “has great ergonomics, making it easy and intuitive for the layperson to operate,” he says.

It’s capable of RF transmission through walls and cabinets, power sensing for reliable operation and RS-232 communications for advanced control when used with RTI accessories.

Programming is easy through Windows-based TheaterTouch Designer software.
