eKey Biometric Entry System Lets You Give it Three Fingers
Use your first finger to control the door lock, scan your second finger to arm/disarm the security, touch your third finger to send a distress signal.
Look out for ekeyUSA, the up-and-coming maker of biometric access control for the residential market.
Earlier we raved about the company's sleek, elegan TocaHome finger readers that put the clunky old keyless entry systems to shame.
Then we hinted at a biometric product developed by partner Holovision.
Now we have details about ekey's Bio-View biometric access system, which will be shown for the first time at CEDIA. Developed by partner Holovision, the new product is an integrated solution with triggers for multiple events, depending on which finger you press against the biometric reader.
According to ekey:
For example, use your first finger to control the electric door strike, scan your second finger to arm and disarm the security system, and touch your third finger to send a distress signal to the security system (if you're being held at gunpoint).
Just don't tell the bad guys.
The biometric system includes an adjustable camera and intercom. It can be configured with a wide range of options and colors.
The system is compatible with several third-party devices:

According to ekey:
In lieu of a key for unlocking a door, a code for arming/disarming an alarm system, or a remote control for opening a gate or garage door a user can do all of that and more, in a simple, secure, and convenient manner all through swiping different fingers by the same user for controlling different access functions.

Compatibility
The biometric system includes an adjustable camera and intercom. It can be configured with a wide range of options and colors.
The system is compatible with several third-party devices:
- The Crestron model is shipped fully assembled and wired, and includes Crestron's C2N-IIF intercom module.
- The Panasonic version is shipped fully assembled and wired, and includes a Panasonic-compatible two-inch speaker, microphone and circuit board.
