Magleby Development has announced it has recently partnered with multiple smart home companies such as Crestron, Lutron and Delos on the development of Velvaere. Set adjacent to the Deer Valley Resort in Park City, Utah, Velvaere is a residential wellness community currently under development by Extell and Magleby.
The 60-acre, ski-in, ski-out wellness community will feature 115 residences, with the first Velvaere homes set to be completed in 2024. The homes will range in size from 2,082 to 8,500 square feet when completed.
“It was important for us to find partners that aligned with Velvaere’s vision and work cohesively together to build a sustainable, holistic wellbeing community,” said Chad Magleby, CEO of Magleby Development.
“After an extensive amount of research, we’ve identified and created a collective of experts, each with its own unique offering that together will be the first time all of these elements and offerings have been brought under one roof in one community— laying the foundation, and setting a new standard, for the future of how we will live.”
Velvaere to Feature Circadian Lighting, Air Purification Technologies
As part of this endeavor, the experts Magleby Development has brought on will be responsible for delivering circadian lighting, air purification, water filtration, artificial intelligence and customizable “sanctuary spaces” such as saunas and cold plunges onto the project for future residences.

A prominent industry player in the realm of science-backed wellness solutions, Delos will help equip each home with its Intellipure Super V, an advanced in-duct air purifier that provides MERV 16 efficiency.
Crestron Electronics will also be deploying its Crestron Home automation platform to help unite control of audio, video, temperature and lighting within each home.
Crestron and Delos both announced their own partnership late last year at the 2022 CEDIA Expo in Dallas, Texas through the development of the Delos Wellness Extension—an automated air quality monitoring and data visualization package that integrates with Crestron Home and comprises indoor air quality sensors and the Delos Hub.
As a result of this partnership, residents at Velvaere will also have an option to add the Delos Wellness Extension as part of their home package.
Each Velvaere home will also come equipped with extensive Lutron lighting systems in the form of Ketra human-centric lighting and Palladiom motorized shading. When combined with the Crestron Home automation system, the lights and shades will be able to sync directly with the outside lighting conditions while also giving residents free control over different programmable scenes.
Other partners include AeroBarrier, an air barrier solutions company, and Halotherapy solutions, a manufacturer of salt therapy equipment that will be used in each residence’s sanctuary space.
Through the participation of Delos, Velvaere will also seek to earn WELL Certification under the WELL Community Standard, administered by the International WELL Building Institute, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Delos.
