AiSPiRE, the integrator-only lighting brand of WAC Lighting, is launching at CEDIA Expo 2024 the A2C01 DMX to ELV Dimming Controller, a new bridge for DMX control to analog lighting fixtures that can control up to 300 watts of electronic low voltage dimmable lighting.
The A2C01 dimming controller bridges the popular DMX control protocol to analog lighting fixtures that use ELV dimmers and is mountable to electrical junction boxes. It can be remotely wired to individual or groups of fixtures for customizable lighting scenes, the company says.
Differing from regular dimmers, ELV units are designed to work with light fixtures that use electronic transformers and use pulse-width modulation (PWM) to control power delivered to the light fixture. This helps contribute to a smoother, more precise dimming experience that produces less flicker and noise, making ELV the preferred method of dimming for LED lights, while DMX remains a popular control option.
A Built-in Remote Device Management enables controller configuration and single-channel DMX address setting, enhancing convenience and project flexibility. The controller also allows installers to adjust the dimming curve, allowing them to customize the lighting experience to their client’s preferences.
AiSPiRE says the controller is equipped with a DMX termination switch to simplify the termination of the DMX signal at the end of the line and aid in signal integrity. Additionally, the onboard override button may be used to manually test fixture on/off functionality and troubleshoot in scenarios of DMX signal loss to minimize performance disruption.
