Airthings (AIRX) announced that Emma Tryti will be joining the company as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Tryti is a widely respected leader in the Norwegian financial industry, with experience as the former Chief Commercial Officer eCommerce and Invoice at Vipps and as Chief Executive Officer of Kron, a market-leading investment app in the Norwegian market.
“I am honored to have the trust to lead [Airthings] through the next phase, creating profitable growth while serving our mission to empower the world to breathe better,” said Tryti.
“People and businesses around the world are beginning to recognize how indoor air quality at home and at work impacts health, and it’s about time we shift the perception of our products from ‘nice to have’ to ‘must have’,” she added.
“We are thrilled to have Emma on board in what will be a truly exciting time for Airthings. Emma knows the company well from her tenure as a Board member over the past two years.
“Her leadership skills and proven track record in creating solutions people love will be key to growing Airthings as a profitable hardware-enabled software company,” said Geir Førre, Chairman of the Board at Airthings.
Founded in 2019, Airthings from the start has been focusing on the impact of indoor air quality on human health and well-being. With 376 million residential homes, 130 million offices and 9 million classrooms in Europe and North America, the company cites a huge opportunity for IAQ solutions.
The company went public on the Norway stock exchange in 2022. For the last quarters of 2023 the company reported increased revenue growth, higher gross margin, and lower operating costs, all of which the company says accelerate its path to profitability.
