Addressing mid-size A/V installations, the newly introduced Luxul AMS-1816P is an 18-port PoE+ L2/L3 network switch offering users an affordable networking device that provides enterprise-grade functionality.
The product is now available to integrators, and through its features and price point, the AMS-1816P should support a number of installation scenarios.
“A number of recently announced Luxul products are going to become available in early 2019, and we're excited to add this with the AMS-1816P,” says Mike Grubb, vice president of marketing, Luxul.
“For CI [custom installation] integrators, the switch not only provides unmatched power and functionality at a great price point, but by enabling simple network expansion, it gives them the flexibility and scalability to tackle installations of any size with ease.”
Plug-and-Play Luxul Switch Power Cycles PoE Devices
The AMS-1816P PoE switch is a plug-and-play solution that incorporates an easy-to-navigate interface. It also incorporates QoS [quality of service], VLAN support, and fast switching capabilities.
Integrators could find themselves regularly utilizing features like the AMS-1816P's Auto Recovery feature that allows the switch to power cycle unresponsive PoE devices, and the switch's PoE Power Scheduling that allows the 1816P's PoE ports to turn on and off based on a schedule.
The 1816P PoE network switch provides a total of 18 ports to support future system expansion by including more ports than its eight port AMS-1208P.
Moreover, the 1816P PoE network switch includes two 1 Gigabit SFP ports to connect additional switches via fiber-optic cable or twisted-pair copper when using its companion SFP modules.
The Draper, Utah-based company adds the AMS-1816p PoE network switch can be used to power devices including touchpanels, VoIP [voice over IP], IP security cameras, and wireless access points without having to add wall-wart power supplies.
