Building on the company’s legacy of home automation, Nice emphasizes that its new OS 8.9 is faster, more reliable, and it integrates with a wider range of third-party devices, including Apple TV, Roku, Tesla Powerwall, and Philips Hue.
The operating system includes new features like “Action Events” that allows users to streamline responses to automated notifications, simplifying tasks such as closing a garage door left open, or placing the home in “Away” mode when no one is home, all without needing to navigate through an app.
Elaborating on the new operating system for professional integrators, Nice points out that OS 8.9 offers streamlined installation with the Mobile Device Manager, making onboarding faster and more efficient. Integrators can now enjoy improved system security through Bluetooth low energy (BLE) authentication and advanced facial recognition, ensuring that users’ homes remain safe and secure.
“With OS 8.9, we’re giving both homeowners and integrators the tools they need to create a truly connected home,” adds Paul Williams, global managing director for Nice Home Management business unit. “This release offers more power, more flexibility, and an easier interface, setting the foundation for the future of home automation.”
