French audio manufacturer L-Acoustics was heavy on home theater demonstrations at CEDIA Expo 2024, including an 11.1.6 Doly Atmos Theater in its show floor booth, as well as an equally powerful system at Denver-area integrator QAV’s showroom at which the companies hosted press.
Visitors to the company’s booth experienced the immersive capabilities of L-Acoustics’ premium products, including the newly launched X6i loudspeakers. The company’s theater setup in the booth featured a 11.1.6 Dolby Atmos system, combined the L-Acoustics Soka colinear loudspeakers for the LCR channels, SB10r in-wall subwoofers, and a mix of X8i and X6i loudspeakers for surround and height channels.
The audio system was powered by LA7.16i amplified controllers connected via AoIP AES67 technology and decoded by a Storm Audio Evo Processor, ensuring a fully digital audio experience. Barco Residential projectors and MadVR video processors, with content from a Kaleidescape Strato player, provided visual accompaniment.
L-Acoustics says the Xi Series products, including the X6i and X8i, feature installation-focused coaxial enclosures, delivering pristine sound quality in a discreet design. The series allows adaptation to various acoustic needs, enhancing both home and yacht installations with natural, powerful sound. The X6i, for instance, provides a maximum SPL of 123 dB and a frequency response down to 69 Hz, while the X8i reaches 129 dB with a response down to 67 Hz.
A highlight of L-Acoustics’s CEDIA Expo 2024 appearance was the in-wall Soka loudspeaker, an ultra-shallow model with a depth of just 99 millimeters, designed to reduce acoustic reflections in compact spaces. Paired with the SB10r subwoofer, the system extended bass response to 25 Hz, offering exceptional power and performance in a small footprint.

L-Acoustic’s Off-Site Home Theater Demo Shows What a Top Tier Space Looks Like
Outside of the Colorado Convention Center, L-Acoustics and Denver-area integrator QAV invited press to an exclusive demo of a new 11.1.6 Dolby Atmos system in the integrator’s recently redesigned showroom.
The redesign was spearheaded by QAV’s Founder and CEO, Tyson Rabani, who aimed to elevate the demonstration space with top-tier audio equipment. The result was an immersive theater experience powered by L-Acoustics’ innovative sound solutions.
According to QAV and L-Acoustics, the system featured L-Acoustics’ Syva 2-way passive colinear speakers and Syva Low 12-inch subwoofers for the LCR channels, while compact X4i speakers, paired with SB6i subwoofers, were installed for the wide surround and rear positions. Six additional X4i speakers were used for height channels. To ensure even LFE coverage, four Syva Sub units were positioned throughout the nine-seat theater. The entire system was powered by two LA7.16i multi-channel amplified controllers, with connectivity managed by an LS10 network switch linked to a Storm Audio ISP MK3 processor.
The home theater setup also features a Barco Residential Bragi Cinemascope projector, a Display Technologies two-way masking screen, and a MadVR Video Envy 2 processor for superior video quality. A Kaleidescape movie server provided content with lossless audio and full reference video quality.
