Coming out IFA, TCL has expanded its flush-mounted Designer Series in the U.S. with two new lines, the A300L QLED and A400U QD-Mini LED Series. Both series will run on Google TV and include TCL’s Art Library, which offers users the option to display artwork at no subscription cost on the TV when not in use, allowing it to blend into the background. The TVs also include multiple matte options and a flush mount included in the box to help them better blend in with a home’s design.
A300L Specs and Features
The A300L series comes in 55-, 65- and 75-inch models with an 85-inch model expected to arrive at an intermediate date. The 55- and 65-inch models measure 1.1 inches deep, allowing them to sit nearly flush against the wall. The 75- and 85-inch models still sport a slim profile, measuring 1.17 and 1.26 inches deep, respectively.
All models in the series come with an ultra-matte, anti-glare screen that is designed to reduce reflections while adhering to that canvas-like aesthetic. The series also come with off-white and light-wood magnetic frames that further help complete the look. Additional handcrafted options are also available through Laredo Factory Frames.
The screens themselves sport a 144 Hz refresh rate, according to TCL, with 4K UHD resolution that supports Dolby Vision, HDR10+, HDR10 and HLG formats. It also comes with a built-in 20W stereo system with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital+ processing. There’s also 3.5mm connector options for external audio.
A400U Specs and Features
The A400L series comes in 55-, 65-, 75-, 85- and 95-inch models with all models except the 95-inch sporting a screen depth of 1.6 inches. The 95-inch model comes in at 1.8 inches.
The A400U series keeps all the same art TV features of the A300L line with the main distinction being the QD-Mini LEDs, using TCL’s Halo Control System and Local Dimming Pro+ for improved backlight precision, contrast and blooming control.
The A400U also adds DTS:X spatial audio support.
Why Integrators Should Take Notice
The Designer Series is TCL’s follow-up to the NXTFRAME and NXTVISION TVs that originally marked TCL’s entry into the art TV category, now populated by the likes of Samsung, LG, SKYWORTH, Hisense, along with TCL.
While Samsung’s The Frame still stands as one of the gold-standards for lifestyle TVs in the custom integration (CI) channel, companies like SKYWORTH note the strong popularity of their own art TV offerings, highlighting the sheer popularity of the product category among integrators.
