As part of the company’s 50th anniversary, Audio Research has introduced its LS28SE preamplifier.
Audio Research says that it applied what it had learned during the development of its 160 series of products towards the improvement of its newest product.
Some of those improvements the LS28SE preamplifier incorporates include the same proprietary gold-coupling caps used in the company’s REF6SE.
Also, like the upgrades it made to other special edition components, the LS28SE features a number of other improvements that focus on wiring and internal components.
The result of the numerous upgrades made to the preamplifier, Audio Research states is that the LS28SE delivers improved clarity, resolution, transient response and a greater sense of space.
Audio Research says the preamp provides users with volume, input selection, power, menu, mono, invert and mute control options.
The tube-based LS28SE also utilizes four 6H30 dual triode tubes, and the company adds that LS28 owners can upgrade their preamps to the SE level for $2,000.
