Origin Acoustics’ new Universal Fire Enclosure is designed to provide professional integrators with an easy-to-install, retrofittable speaker box.
The popular custom installation market audio manufacturer says that its latest product is Interetek/ETL certified, and the new protective fire enclosure is specifically designed to keep the integrity of fire-resistant ceilings for 60 minutes with in-ceiling loudspeakers.
Origin Acoustics explains that its new Universal Fire Enclosure (UFE1160) is certified to work with any speaker with a diameter between 5 7/8-inches to 10 5/8-inches, and the product does not need to be screwed in; it does not required to be drilled in, and it does not need any type of sealant products.
According to Origin Acoustics, once installed, the UFE1160 fire safety speaker accessory expands as much as five times its original size to fill in voids within the ceiling to prevent flames from spreading in the event a fire may occur in a home.
Some of the Universal Fire Enclosure’s other benefits include its sound absorbing properties. The safety-first product through its sound absorption capabilities can minimize the leakage of sound into adjacent spaces to make installed audio systems more home friendly.
