The newly announced Origin Acoustics AS51 outdoor audio system offers integrators and homeowners a three-channel system that incorporates larger satellite speakers, a more powerful subwoofer, and a dedicated DSP amplifier.
Origin Acoustics says that its latest outdoor audio system features satellite speakers that utilize 5.25-inch drivers and 1-inch Titanium tweeters. Origin specifies the AS51’s satellite speakers to produce a frequency response of 55Hz to 20kHz, and its peak power handling capability at 50 watts. The 16-ohm satellite measures 8 x 6 3/8 x 7 7/8 inches.
The system’s companion subwoofer incorporates a 10-inch woofer that provides 40% more surface area than its previous model. The AS51 subwoofer delivers a rated frequency response of 35Hz to 120Hz, and it can handle up to 200 watts of power.
Origin Acoustic also points out the subwoofer can live as an in-ground, buried subwoofer or it can serve integrators above ground too.
Rounding out the three-channel system is Origin Acoustics’ DSP3-150 amplifier.
According to the company, the DSP3-150 produces 150 watts per channel, and a total of 300 watts summed in mono for the subwoofer. Origin Acoustics emphasizes the DSP3-150 amplifier comes preinstalled with DSP profiles for the AS51 system to make the complete solution a turnkey installation for professional integrators.
