Shelly Group, a provider of IoT and smart building solutions based in Sofia, Bulgaria, announces KNX compatibility, extending its automation reach via this widespread standard for home and building automation into its products.
Leveraging Shelly’s connectivity options, these devices provide a range of smart functionalities for homes, offices, and industrial buildings. Speaking of devices, the company recently introduced several for the integration market at the Light + Building show.
The company’s various Shelly Pro and Pro PM devices offer seamless integration into any existing automation systems, providing retrofit options that eliminate the need for additional wiring, Shelly notes.
KNX support enables complete building control including lighting, HVAC, shading, security, energy, and more. It is a managed open-source and non-proprietary protocol with KNX partners globally.
The integration expands the potential applications of Shelly Pro relays and dimmers within KNX environments, providing interoperability and advanced control capabilities, according to the company.

KNX Compatibility Opens Up Much More from Shelly Ecosystem
Shelly Pro relays and dimmers use KNX networks via KNXNet/IP communication protocol. The configuration options within the devices allow users to enable KNX integration into existing systems and specify parameters such as group addresses and communication settings.
Via KNX data points, users can access key device functions and status information, turning Shelly Pro devices into integral components that contribute to energy efficiency, comfort, and convenience, the company explains.
The KNX compatibility also allows customers to create custom KNXnet/IP solutions with Shelly IoT devices, ideal for networked applications.
Moreover, Shelly notes that it’s Smart Control app centralizes automation, empowers users to manage spaces, monitor energy consumption, and optimize expenses.
The company adds that it provides a variety of tools and resources to facilitate the integration of Shelly Pro devices with KNX networks, such as dedicated software solutions to simplify configuration and management tasks, plus documentation and support channels.
Shelly Group also announced its participation in DALI Alliance (the Digital Illumination Interface Alliance, or DiiA), the global industry organization for DALI lighting control. DALI is an industry-standardized two-way communications protocol and is specified in the multi-part international standard IEC 62386, as well as by new specifications written by DiiA.
