Savant Systems, Inc., a global manufacturer of smart home and smart power solutions announced that it has completed a transaction to acquire assets from J Geiger Shading, a window treatment product manufacturer that designs and delivers architecturally conscious shading.

Financial terms of the newly announced deal were not disclosed.

The Cape Cod-based smart home company points out that since 2011, J Geiger has been delivering shading systems that are thoughtfully designed and provide a sleek, minimalistic look that accents a home’s architecture. Savant also points out the J Geiger also provides a range of versatile hardware options conceal unsightly wires and screws for a streamlined look that blends with the décor and complements the growing demand for window walls, floor-to-ceiling corner windows, and more.

According to Savant, over the past six years it has formed a close partnership with J Geiger to bring a new category of exposed roller-shades to market through the custom integration channel as well as the launch of several new category products, such as quick-install Inception shades. Savant emphasizes that J Geiger’s design approach and craftsmanship aligns perfectly with its ability to deliver the best possible smart home experience, as homeowners have come to increasingly demand systems designed to blend natural and artificial lighting.

In addition to rounding out its lighting portfolio, Savant says that J Geiger shades bolster its portfolio of energy and climate solutions that can help existing and future homes become more energy efficient. The ability to control heat with proper shading plays a significant role in reducing energy use, particularly in warmer geographies around the globe Savant stresses.

All Savant Authorized Integrators will continue to have access to J Geiger shades, with a growing portfolio of motors, Inception Shade options and more to be announced this quarter. Moreover, all current J Geiger customers will also continue to have access, receiving the same level of excellent sales and support they have come to expect.
