Published: May 17, 2021

AVLinkPro, a Crestron Electronics partner, has announced the release of a new interface extension for Crestron HOME.

Based on the company’s released REST API, the new software extension is called SIPAHOY. It provides a new feature set to the Crestron HOME automation system providing intercom communication and control features for the popular residential smart home solution. The interface is designed to connect the intercom hardware systems offered by AVLinkPro providing greater control of features like panel to panel intercom, audio paging to panels or sound systems. The extension also enables touchless room monitoring, electronic door relay release as well as the add on ability to interface Crestron HOME with a landline telephone system.

The new SIPAHOY extension is designed simplify the intercom enhancement features in Crestron HOME that were only possible previously when using a secondary Crestron processor and scripted Macro coding by an experienced programmer. The deployment of the new AVLinkPro extension is intended to allow lower cost integration with greater features and more functions.

“We are hopeful that every new Crestron Home installation should now have the option for intercom and whole house communication with our SIP PBX and the new software extension.” Says Jon Miller, product manager for the AVLinkPro solutions.

“We are proud of the team effort that has guided the development of this new interface. We made specific manageable features available to both the AVLinkPro systems and our Crestron HOME extension to best serve the installer and the end user. A lot of feedback from installers in the Crestron community were essential in the development of this unified solution.”
