Sony is expanding its lineup of Crystal LED displays with two new modular direct view display systems designed for quality, flexibility and scalability.
The new additions to the modular Crystal LED portfolio are the C-series with high contrast and B-series with high brightness. Both come in two pixel pitch sizes and can support different use cases, including corporate showrooms, lobbies and productions.
In a press release, the company says both displays come equipped with the X1 for Crystal LED high-performance image quality processor, fully incorporating the LED control technology of the Crystal LED series and the signal processing technology of Sony’s BRAVIA TV series.
The displays also enable image accuracy inspired by Sony’s master monitors, “providing highly realistic large-scale imagery that maintains integrity close-up and at a distance.”
According to Sony, the displays provide enhanced content that is upscaled while maintaining high-resolution, smooth and artifact-free pictures without motion blur and graduate expression.

Other features include a wide viewing angle, wide color gamut and various input signals like HDR, HFR and 3D.
Sony designed the displays to be flexible, long-lasting and easy to install. They are comprised of modular, seamless and bezel-free tiles that can scale to accommodate a range of sizes, layouts and resolutions, including wall-mounted or in a curved arrangement.
The C-series provides high contrast of 1,000,000:1 and features a deep black coating optimized for showrooms, lobbies, customer experience centers and more.
The B-series – developed in collaboration with Sony Pictures Entertainment – offers high brightness while showcasing realistic images with a wide color gamut.
These displays come with an anti-reflecting coating and a matte finish that make them well-suited for creators, designers and production applications using virtual sets and backdrops.
Both series are expected to be available this summer, and more information will be introduced at CES 2021 and Sony Square on Jan. 11.
