AVPro Global, Inc., parent company of AVPro Edge, Murideo, and Bullet Train audio/video distribution products, has announced the acquisition of the Home Audio division of AudioControl from AAMP Holdings, Inc., expanding the AVPro Global footprint in the residential, commercial distributed audio, and media room industry market sectors.
As a result of the deal, AVPro Global will assume ownership of the AudioControl Home business, which will rebrand to AudioControl Pro. AAMP will retain its AudioControl Vehicle Technology business with no change to its operations.
“The acquisition of the AudioControl Home business unit, as an award-winning company with a 45-year history of designing and building superb audio equipment, complements our existing AVPro Edge, Murideo, and Bullet Train high-performance brand positions in both the residential and commercial audio/video distribution spaces, and provides AVPro with an additional growth platform while diversifying our penetration into distributed audio markets,” says Jeff Murray, AVPro’s CEO and founder.
“The synergy between AudioControl and AVPro has limitless long-term potential, but the near-term benefits are the merging of resources to improve processes, such as production, tech support, and customer service teams,” Murray adds. “We are bringing together AudioControl’s industry-leading audio solutions with AVPro’s unmatched expertise in switching and connectivity — the result will be premium solutions that will appeal to both residential and commercial integrators.”
It had been roughly 16 months since AudioControl was previously acquired by AAMP Global last April, leading to the departure of longtime AudioControl president Alex Camara – and regular guest of the CE Pro ‘Audio Guys’ Podcast’ effective March 1, 2023.
The AudioControl Home Audio Division product line – now AudioControl Pro – includes award-winning power amplifiers, multizone amplifiers, network amplifiers, 70-volt amplifiers, single-zone amplifiers, subwoofer amplifiers, AV processors, AV receivers, and AV signal extenders, the company notes.
AVPro Global Gains Multi-Market Leader in AudioControl Deal
The company, which has been based in Seattle for 45-plus years, again fared well in the annual CE Pro 100 Brand Analysis in those categories. It was a ‘Bullet Brand’ in the Audio Amplifiers category (fourth place, 49%), and earned solid market share in Home Theater Processors (second, 37%) and AV Receivers (fourth, 34%). AudioControl had just announced it had entered the auto speaker and subwoofer categories.
Recently, AudioControl received top accolades from the custom installation (CI) channel, recognized by CE Pro’s Quest for Quality Awards for Best Customer Service, Best Technical Support, Best Dealer Protection Policies, and Best Supply Chain Mitigation in 2023.
“AVPro is dedicating critical resources to AudioControl that will enhance every aspect of the brand — from advanced manufacturing capabilities in three geographical locations to engineering expertise with AV switching, HDMI, eARC, Dante and more. These strengths will immediately expand our capabilities, bringing significant benefit to integration professionals,” enthuses Chris Kane, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at AudioControl.
New owner AVPro Global is a privately held American company headquartered in Sioux Falls, S.D., with satellite offices in St. Petersburg, Fla.; Green Bay, Wis.; a European office in Bratislava, Slovakia; a Far East office in Shenzhen, China; and now through the acquisition of AudioControl Home, Seattle.
The three AVPro Global video-centric brands – AVPro Edge Edge, Bullet Train, and Murideo – combine their respective strengths to create the fastest-growing AV signal distribution company in the residential and commercial systems integration spaces, perfectly complementing Murray’s vision, according to the company, “To be recognized as the best AV signal distribution and control products and services company on the planet.”
The company has also showed strongly in the CE Pro Brand Analysis, with moving up steadily in the past couple of years to earn the second spot at 46% in Video Distribution/Switchers/Extenders, and fifth in Fiber-Optic Cabling (20%).
AudioControl, AVPro Edge Ready to Show Solutions at CEDIA Expo 2023
So what can integrators expect from the companies when they hit the CEDIA Expo show floor in September?
“CEDIA Expo attendees will immediately see the AudioControl/AVPro synergy in action,” says Kane. “We will show several products in the AudioControl (booth 2509) with eARC and Dante connectivity. AVPro Edge (booth 3212) and Murideo (booth 2939) each have their own booths as well. I’m looking forward to meeting with our partners an discussing these new opportunities.”
Murray is looking forward to the Expo and the potential impact this acquisition will have on the company and the industry.
“AudioControl has been supplying the CEDIA channel with professional grade Made in USA amplifiers and AVRs for many years, and we couldn’t be more excited about continuing to grow these brands and establish these companies as the ultimate partners for AV integration pros,” he says.
