After 11 years at the helm of multiroom audio powerhouse NuVo Technologies, David Rodarte has launched the consulting firm ChangingVelocity, naming Torus Power as one of the firm’s first clients.

Torus, a subsidiary of Plitron Manufacturer, and a leading manufacturer of toroidal isolation power conditions has launched a “global strategic development partnership” with Rodarte, “aimed at defining the Torus Power global market strategy and value proposition while refining the product lineup to best serve the much sought-after brand,” according to the power company.

“We are pleased to be working with David Rodarte and are thrilled to have the power of ChangingVelocity behind us,” says Howard Gladstone, president and CEO of both Torus Power and Plitron Manufacturing. “Torus Power is a unique product line built on a strong heritage of unequaled quality and unrivaled performance, and we’re confident that David’s valuable industry experience will help the brand maximize its true marketplace potential.”

Rodarte, a recipient of CEA’s TechHome Leadership Award, recently launched ChangingVelocity to assist North American and European businesses with strategic planning, acquisition sourcing, and global business development. He launched the company shortly after departing NuVo at the end of 2013.

His inspiration in launching the company was to help companies similar NuVo, which was a $20 million, profitable organization when its parent company sought to divest it.

“I found it really difficult getting advice from bankers,” he says.

After lessons learned from the sale of NuVo to Legrand in 2012, Rodarte feels highly qualified to help companies in similar situations.
