Klipsch Debuts New Reference Premiere Speakers and Subs at Audio Advice Live

The RP III Series and RP Compact Subwoofers can be at home in a two-channel system as well as an immersive home theater setup.

Klipsch continues to celebrate its 80th anniversary this week, with the release of new speakers and subwoofers. The company unveiled its Reference Premiere (RP) III series of speakers as well as Reference Premiere Compact Subwoofers while at Audio Advice Live 2026 in Raleigh, N.C.

A Closer Look at the RP III Series of Speakers

According to Klipsch, the RP III Series will feature nine models ranging from floortstanding speakers to professional monitors, giving the new lineup flexibility across a variety of system configurations including two-channel music systems and immersive home theaters.

The lineup includes:

Floorstanding speakers: RP-8263FA (Dolby Atmos integrated), RP-8020F, and RP-6203F
Monitors: RP-6103M and RP-5103M
Center-channel speakers: RP-5203C and RP-5403C
Surround speakers: RP-5203S and RP-5103SA (Dolby Atmos enabled)

All models in the series feature a new high-density axial Tractrix horn tweeter with upgraded BMC material flush-mounted to the cabinet to minimize wave breakup and measurably improve off-axis response for a wider sweet spot. The series also employs Klipsch’s signature copper Cerametallic woofers as well as new metal outrigging feet for isolation.

The series also supports immersive Dolby Atmos home theater configurations, with the flagship RP-8263FA floorstanding speaker featuring integrated upfiring height drivers. Alternatively, Klipsch states the RP-5103SA can be used as a Dolby Atmos elevation speaker positioned atop floorstanding or bookshelf models or mounted to the wall.

Reference Premiere Subwoofers

Designed and engineered in the USA, the Reference Premiere Compact Subwoofers draw on eight decades of Klipsch acoustic expertise, with three models combining a rigid sealed enclosure, a high-excursion front-firing Cerametallic woofer, a precision analog preamplifier and a high-efficiency Class D amplifier to deliver clean, articulate bass.

The three models are the:

16-inch RP-1600CSW
14-inch RP-1400CSW
12-inch RP-1200CSW

According to Klipsch, the RP Compact Subs were designed for both stereo and home theater applications and reportedly extend low-frequency performance by up to one octave when paired with other Klipsch audio products.

Rear-panel controls include adjustable crossover, phase and gain settings with high-contrast labeling for improved visibility during installation. Klipsch also warns that the RP Compact Subs do feature a gain control that goes to 11.

Connectivity includes line-level/LFE RCA inputs and a dedicated wireless input compatible with the optional Klipsch WA-2 Wireless Subwoofer Kit. The RCA and wireless inputs can also be used simultaneously, allowing a single subwoofer to support multiple systems in the same room. The subs also feature native connectivity with the RP III Series.

Finishes and Accessories

The Reference Premiere III Series features an industrial design with Ebony and Walnut finishes, the new knife-edge cabinets improve structural rigidity while delivering a clean, contemporary appearance. The floorstanding models include adjustable metal outrigger feet that provide increased stability and precise positioning, while all models feature iconic copper accents, floating fabric grilles, and updated rear input panels.

The RP Compact Subwoofers, meanwhile, carry the distinctive styling of the Reference Premiere family, featuring a scratch-resistant Ebony vinyl finish, signature copper accents, rounded cabinet edges, shock-absorbing rubber feet, and a floating fabric grille as well.
