A few days ago, AVIXA CEO David Labuskes addressed the pro AV industry with a blog, stating that the trade organization would open its full catalog of online training courses to audio visual professionals, no matter their membership level. Now, Labuskes says he and his colleagues are monitoring the suggestions of public health officials as it pertains to AVIXA-related events, such as InfoComm 2020.
“We are evaluating each and every event and location and making virtual options available, postponements if possible, and cancellations where necessary. I welcome and advise that you reach out to your AVIXA contact with any questions or concerns as it pertains to any event or meeting that you are planning to attend,” Labuskes says in his latest blog.
Will There be an InfoComm 2020?
With COVID-19 affecting many pro AV events already, there’s a concern over the possibility that largest trade event in North America either won’t happen or will be pushed back from its early June scheduled date.
According to Labuskes, “Because this situation continues to change on a moment-by-moment basis, our decision-making process will be on an event-by-event basis within the context of each location and its environment and its timing.”
“Should there be a need to cancel or reschedule an event or meeting, we will notify all participants and attendees as soon as that decision is made.”

Labuskes encourages those who find themselves with more time on their hands due to social distancing and remote work to take advantage of the AVIXA education catalog.
All fees for access to the catalog will be waived through June 12.
