Lutron Launches DIY Caséta Smart Wood Blinds With Automatic Sun-Based Tilt

Published: January 7, 2026

Lutron Electronics has expanded its Caséta Wireless portfolio with the introduction of Caséta smart wood blinds, a new DIY-friendly shading option designed to automate natural light management throughout the day.

According to the Lutron, the new blinds feature Lutron’s Natural Light Optimization (NLO) technology, which automatically adjusts the tilt of the slats based on the sun’s position, the home’s geographic location, and window orientation. The system is intended to balance daylight, reduce glare, manage heat gain, and maintain privacy without requiring manual adjustments.

The battery-powered Caséta smart wood blinds are constructed from real North American basswood and are available in two finishes: painted white and stained walnut. Lutron says the material choice and finish options are intended to complement a range of residential interior styles while delivering the quiet operation associated with the company’s window treatment products.

The blinds are wire-free and designed for DIY installation, with setup handled through the Lutron app. Users can also control the blinds using Pico smart remotes or supported voice assistants. The product integrates with major smart home platforms, including Amazon Alexa, Apple Home, and Google Home, and can be paired with Caséta lighting controls to create coordinated lighting and shading scenes.

Lutron lists pricing at $429 for blinds sized up to 48 inches wide by 80 inches tall, with larger sizes available at additional cost. Each blind includes a customized bottom rail that allows for manual lifting or lowering when desired, while automated tilt adjustments are handled by the NLO feature.

Caséta smart wood blinds became available for purchase on January 4, 2026, and are sold exclusively through the Caséta website to U.S.-based customers, according to the company.
