Rekkord, a European-based manufacturer of home audio products, has announced its new flagship turntable: the M600 Reference Turntable.
Available in the U.S. from its North American importer/distributor VANA Ltd., the company states the hand-made turntable utilizes a large wooden chassis that is said to complement a wealth of home interiors. Offered in a choice of matte-black or gloss-black finishes, the three-speed M600 Reference Turntable incorporates a custom-designed 8.6-inch aluminum tonearm that Rekkord says was made specifically for its new top-of-the-line turntable.
“The Rekkord M600 is the reference model,” says Roy Feldstein, Chief Technology Officer (CTO) VANA Ltd., exclusive North American importer of Rekkord turntables. “It epitomizes Rekkord’s commitment to designing, manufacturing, and marketing turntables that offer outstanding performance and value that outshine anything else at their price points.”
Rekkord M600 Reference Turntable Provides Instant Upgrade Path for Music Lovers
Elaborating on the design of the custom-built 8.6-inch aluminum tonearm, VANA and Rekkord point out the arm provides height control through a four-way ball cardan bearing that is made from solid aluminum blocks. The turntable also provides a massless tracking force adjustment, and the M600 turntable also employs features such as a 5.6-pound aluminum platter that is billet machined with a 10mm groove that holds energy-absorbing thermoplastic elastomers to help minimize the transfer of resonances that could possibly detract from the listening experience.
Some of the other features the M600 Reference Turntable offers music enthusiasts include design elements such as the unit’s platter residing on a brass bearing that’s paired with a Teflon bearing mirror that is said to deliver smooth operation and long-term durability.
