LG just gave word that it’s partnering with luxury Danish audio company Bang & Olufsen in a move that the company refers to as redefining home cinema. The pairing has brought together LG’s colossal MAGNIT microLED display with Bang & Olufsen’s flagship Beolab 90 speakers.
LG’s mainline microLED offering, the MAGNIT represents the height of display technology within LG’s portfolio with a 136-inch, 4K UHD screen. The Beolab 90, meanwhile, sits at the top of Bang & Olufsen’s own Beolab series with 8,200 watts per speaker, 18 drivers, 14 channels of 300-watt ICE power amplifiers and 4 channels of 1,000-watt Class D Heliox amplifiers.
Having worked with Meridian Audio for a number of years, LG is no stranger to partnering with outside audio companies to find ideal pairings for its displays in the home, both in terms of audio performance and cohesive visuals. And neither is Bang & Olufsen, having partnered with Origin Acoustics just last year to help expand the company’s presence within the CI channel.
However, this isn’t even the first time LG has partnered with Bang & Olufsen specifically. When the company first rolled out its MAGNIT display at CEDIA Expo 2022, the company had a special partnership to bundle the MAGNIT with Beolab 90 speakers when purchased through the Bang & Olufsen store.
So perhaps consider this announcement a deepening of that partnership. According to LG, the two companies conducted several rounds of testing to ensure clean compatibility between LG’s webOS platform and Bang & Olufsen’s own software application.

As a result, users can now control both LG MAGNIT and Beolab 90 via Bang & Olufsen’s remote controller through clean and simple integrations.
Looking at some of the photographs taken for the announcement, Bang & Olufsen’s signature industrial style also seems to pair nicely with MAGNIT’s own ultra-minimalist design as well.
Make no mistake, however, this is an ultra-luxe pairing. The speakers alone currently run $120,000 MSRP, while the MAGNIT varies. Given the price point on installations such as Samsung’s The Wall, it’s safe to say that it might run a pretty penny.
Still, for the cinephile with an eye for style, the dynamic duo have a track record of performance in both the audio and video department with a design to compliment any modern home.
While we don’t know if LG will be showing off the pairing at CEDIA Expo 2023, the LG MAGNIT with Bang & Olufsen’s Beolab 90 speakers is currently on display at several international locations. However, for American audiences, if you are able to wait until September, the pairing will be on display at the Bang & Olufsen showroom in Costa Mesa, California in September.
