Grant Clauser | 03/01 10:33 AM, 0 Comments
If some of your potential clients think electronics can clutter up a home and distract from the core aesthetics, show them this tastefully-designed loft in New York City’s fashionable SoHo district. In this modern space, Cliqk integrated a lighting, control and audio/video system that is seen and heard only when it’s needed. The owners of this loft insisted on simplicity, both in how the system operated and how it merged with the space’s design. Going for a minimalist theme, however, doesn’t mean the technology is lacking in any way. On… View this story

Meridian’s introduction of the Explorer digital-to-analog converter (DAC) couldn’t have been timed more perfectly. The Explorer is one of what may soon be a growing amount of thumb drive-sized DACs that are reasonably priced for consumers who listen to audio from their computers and tablets. The DAC includes state-of-the-art features such as asynchronous data transfer technologies, as well as technologies developed for Meridian’s benchmark 800 series products in a device that carries an MSRP of $299. Best of all for electronics installers, the DAC is a plug-and-play solution that complement’s… View this story

OK, I’ll bite. Grant Clauser made a strong case as to why a long-rumored HDTV from Apple excites him about as much as an HD-DVD comeback. I’m no Apple fanboy, but it seems like almost anything that comes out of Cupertino is gold, although it’s still too early to tell if Tim Cook has the same Midas touch of Steve Jobs. For the sake of argument, here are five reasons why I care about - or at least highly intrigued by - the possibilities of Apple HDTV. Apple Offers Hardware… View this story
