As part of the ever-growing partnership between ADT and Google, ADT has today announced the availability of the company’s first ever, fully integrated smart home security system billed for DIY customers. The ADT Self Setup system integrates Google Nest smart home products with ADT security and life safety technology as well as ADT SMART monitoring—all of which is controllable through the new ADT+ app.
Pulling from both ADT and Google portfolios, the ADT Self Setup system can either be ordered pre-configured and ready to be deployed out of the box or customized to match customer preferences.
ADT Self Setup Packages
The starter package includes an ADT Smart Home Hub, one Nest Doorbell (battery), four ADT Door & Window Sensors, and 2 ADT Motion Sensors.
The premium system Includes the security and smart home features of the Starter System and adds a Nest Hub (2nd Gen) for greater convenience and control.
The Build Your Own system includes the ADT Smart Home Hub and enables customers to pick the ADT security and Google Nest products that best meet their needs.
Once installed, homeowners can interact or view their ADT-monitored system through multiple touchpoints around the home by using the Google Home app, ADT Keypad, Google Nest Hub (2nd gen) and Nest Hub Max and with their voice with a Google Assistant-enabled device.

Pricing and Product Availability
Starting devices available for the Self Setup system include ADT Smart Home Hub, ADT Keypad, ADT Keychain Remote, ADT Door/Window Sensor, ADT Motion Sensor, ADT Flood & Temperature Sensor, ADT Smoke Detector, Nest Doorbell (battery), Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery), Nest Cam (indoor, wired), Nest Thermostat, Nest Learning Thermostat, Nest Wifi, Nest Mini (2nd gen), Nest Hub (2nd gen) and Nest Hub Max.
As an ADT offering, the ADT Self Setup system also comes with the company’s SMART Monitoring technology.
The company notes that customers enrolled in the SMART Monitoring service as part of the Self Setup system can select which devices can share recordings with ADT, with consented recordings being stored securely in ADT’s cloud platform to help verify alarm events and assist with response times from first responders in the event of an emergency.
Users of the Self Setup DIY smart home security system will also have direct access to ADT encrypted video and multi-factor account verification for additional account/home security.
The new ADT Self Setup system is available for purchase on ADT’s website with pricing starting at $219.98 MSRP. ADT states this purchase also includes an introductory 30-day free trial of professional monitoring.
At the conclusion of the trial, professional monitoring will begin at $24.99 a month.
