Josh.ai is arriving at CEDIA Expo with one of its biggest product showcases yet, featuring new hardware, software and dealer-focused tools designed to improve both the homeowner experience and the integrator workflow. CEO Alex Capecelatro says the company builds toward two major launch events each year, making CEDIA Expo the stage for months of development across multiple product categories.
Leading the showcase is Josh Edge, the company’s handheld remote that combines physical buttons with customizable controls. Capecelatro says the remote has quickly gained traction among dealers and gives attendees an opportunity to experience Josh.ai beyond voice control through interactive demonstrations.
The booth will also highlight AI X OS, Josh.ai’s latest software platform featuring a redesigned interface and new capabilities across its mobile apps and touchscreens. Returning users will see new features, while newcomers can experience the platform through live demonstrations in the booth’s demo environment.
For integrators, Josh.ai will introduce Pro Studio, a collection of AI-powered tools focused on training, system management and deployment. Among the capabilities are an AI assistant that guides installers through programming and configuration tasks, portfolio management tools, and natural language programming that allows dealers to create sophisticated automations simply by describing what they want the system to do.
Rather than recreating a luxury living room, Josh.ai’s booth adopts an art gallery-inspired design with interactive stations dedicated to Josh Edge, AIXOS and Pro Studio, alongside an enclosed demo room showcasing the complete experience.
Looking beyond the show floor, Capecelatro said AI’s greatest opportunity lies in helping dealers operate more efficiently while making home control easier for homeowners. He predicts the next several years will be driven less by robotics and more by intelligent software running locally in the home, enabling faster, more private and context-aware smart home experiences.
Capecelatro will also appear on the Smart Stage alongside a representative from Savant speaking about how AI is transforming the user experience. The session, “When Smart Homes Get Smarter: AI Enters the Rack,” will be at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2.
