Many homeowners' initial plunge into the smart home is the purchase of a smart thermostat. So it's no surprise that Cape Cod-based Savant introduced its Multi-STAT touchscreen multipurpose thermostat at CEDIA 2017 to give homeowners a more versatile and powerful solution than what they could find in warehouse stores.
Part of the company's Savant Climate line, the product is engineered to be a new approach to residential thermostat design.
“Our objective with the Savant Multi-STAT was to provide homeowners with an attractive multipurpose device that could combine advanced climate features with convenient access to smart home functionality,” says Robert Madonna, CEO, Savant. “By leveraging the touchscreen capabilities of the Savant Pro Remote within the Multi-STAT, we have created a decor-friendly climate control solution that redefines the category.”
The Multi-STAT multipurpose thermostat provides homeowners with easy access to Savant Scenes with a finger swipe of the product's color touchscreen, to provide access to automation events including climate control, lighting and home entertainment.
Savant says the thermostat's user interface is identical to the glass touchscreen in its Pro Remote, which is intended to be easy to use for consumers. It connects to both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
The thermostat is compatible with both standard and heat pump-based HVAC systems, and it connects locally to 10K and 1-wire bus sensors. Integrators can configure Fahrenheit or Celsius operation, and connect the thermostat to any number of indoor and outdoor temperature sensors, slab sensors or humidity sensors.
Homeowners can also benefit from the thermostat's HVAC scheduler and climate-related notifications that can be sent to their mobile devices. The product installs as a stand-alone solution or as a product within a complete Savant Climate system with up to 48 zones of expansion available to homeowners.
Savant's multipurpose thermostat starts shipping in the fourth quarter of 2017. It will carry an MSRP of $520.
