Josh.ai has expanded its intelligent lighting platform with native support for DMX and DALI lighting protocols, broadening compatibility with architectural lighting systems used in luxury residential projects.
The update adds native integrations with DMF Lighting and Nicolaudie gateways, allowing custom integrators to control a wider range of lighting fixtures through Josh.ai’s voice, touch and text interfaces. According to the company, the new support gives dealers and lighting designers greater flexibility when specifying fixtures while maintaining unified smart home control. This will be highlighted at the company’s CEDIA Expo 2026 booth, #3406.
“The future of the smart home is not about limiting designers and installers to a predefined set of technologies. It is about giving them the freedom to create extraordinary spaces while technology simply brings everything together,” says Alex Capecelatro, CEO of Josh.ai. “Native DMX and DALI support is another step toward that future, expanding what’s possible for our dealers while making every home feel simpler, more intuitive, and more magical for the people who live there.”

DMF and Nicolaudie Integrations Expand Fixture Support
The release includes support for DMF Lighting’s enhanced PhaseX gateway, enabling control of PhaseX downlights and linear fixtures. Users can adjust brightness, tunable white lighting, color temperature and lighting scenes through the Josh.ai platform.
Josh.ai also announced support for Nicolaudie’s Dina DR1, Dina DR2 and Dina SR1 controllers. At launch, the integration supports dimming, color control and lighting effects, with color temperature adjustments for compatible fixtures planned in a future Nicolaudie firmware update.
Expanded Lighting Options for Integrators
According to Josh.ai, native DMX and DALI support expands installation options for applications including dedicated media rooms, outdoor entertainment areas, architectural accent lighting and whole-home human-centric lighting.
The company says the protocol support also broadens compatibility with additional lighting manufacturers that use DMX and DALI standards, including American Lighting, Axion and Colorbeam, with plans to continue expanding its lighting ecosystem through additional fixture and gateway integrations.
The addition of native DMX and DALI support also gives lighting designers greater flexibility to specify fixtures based on project requirements rather than control platform compatibility, while allowing Josh.ai to unify lighting with other connected home systems.
Homeowners Gain More Advanced Lighting Control
For homeowners, the expanded lighting support enables control of dynamic architectural lighting, tunable white fixtures and color-changing lighting through the Josh App or natural language voice commands. Josh.ai says users can make requests such as adjusting lights to a specific color temperature or selecting colors through descriptive voice prompts.
Josh.ai says the new native DMX and DALI integrations are available now, with additional compatible lighting solutions planned as the platform’s ecosystem continues to expand.
