Focal has announced its Aria Evo X line of loudspeakers that follow in the footsteps of the Aria 900 range, which the company says enjoyed a decade of success. The company states the new speakers utilize revamped technologies and a brand-new finish. According to Focal, the new product line pays homage to traditional hi-fi with its collection of five products: One compact bookshelf model, along with three slender floorstanding loudspeakers (N°2, N°3, N°4), and Aria Evo X Center for home theater applications.
Aria Evo X Speakers Utilize Proprietary Audio Technologies
Utilizing its years of engineering experience, Focal states that its latest product line incorporate a number technological elements that are exclusive to the brand that are highlighted by the company’s ‘M’-shaped inverted dome TAM tweeter, which is says is the successor of the TNF tweeter. Focal explains this tweeter produces treble frequencies more faithfully by going further into the high and low ends of the spectrum. The surround on the midrange is equipped with the company’s TMD (Tuned Mass Damper) technology to stabilize how the surround behaves, reducing distortion and delivering perfectly balanced dynamics.
Continuing its explanation, Focal says the ‘M’ shape of the dome is another Focal innovation that is capable of reproducing high frequencies up to 30kHz. The woofers’ magnet has been revamped to deliver more impact in the bass. Focal’s engineers have also reworked the crossovers with better components to improve loudspeaker balance.
The company also emphasizes the speakers start a new era for a signature Aria feature—with the flax cone appearing in the line’s midrange and bass speaker drivers. Focal notes this cone was first introduced with the Aria 900 line back in 2013. Focal says the cone made from French flax fiber to produce a natural sound that is free of coloration that includes rich midrange reproduction and clear bass lines.
In addition, the brand is also offering a new finish for its latest product line: Moss Green High Gloss. The speakers will also be offered in a choice of black high gloss and prime walnut finishes. Each finish is combined with leather-effect front panels.
