Adding to its selection of products, Sonos has announced its new SUB Mini subwoofer.
The newly introduced small footprint subwoofer is designed to complement the company’s Ray and Beam Gen 2 soundbars, as well as its One and One SL speakers, and the popular audio manufacturer notes the sub utilizes the wireless 5GHz frequency spectrum to reliably connect to Sonos audio systems.
Internally, the new SUB Mini Subwoofer employs a sealed cabinet design that includes dual opposing 6-inch woofers that are powered by Class D amplifiers. The subwoofer’s force cancelling design is said to eliminate distortion and Sonos also points out these drivers and amplifiers are controlled by the company’s latest DSP processing technologies to help ensure the highest possible levels of performance.
Further helping the performance of the new subwoofer, Sonos explains that when it is setup with Apple iOS devices integrators can custom tune the subwoofer to their clients’ home spaces using Sonos’ proprietary Trueplay room equalization technologies.
Externally, Sonos designed the subwoofer with a cylindrical appearance to help the product unobtrusively blend into a range of interior environments.
Sonos adds the new SUB Mini Subwoofer is capable of playing down as low as 25Hz.
