At the recently completed CEDIA Expo show in Denver on Sept. 5-7, the popular window coverings solutions provider Hunter Douglas announced its new Solar Charger Kit.
The smart home equipment company states that its latest product provides a reliable means to charge its PowerView line of automation shades. Hunter Douglas explains that its new Solar Charger Kit was developed to work in a variety of environments, including less-than-ideal lighting conditions. Hunter Douglas points out that integrators can install the charging solution on north-facing windows, and because of the solar charging capabilities the kit provides, PowerView shades can be installed in locations that previously would have presented difficult recharging circumstances.
Elaborating on the features the new kit offers homeowners and dealers, the company emphasizes integrators can deploy the kit with PowerView Automation rechargeable battery wands and the kit is available with an adapter to support the internal charging of rechargeable battery shade models.
Hunter Douglas adds the kit is easy to install and it enables multiple out-of-the-box mounting options to support a variety of smart home applications. Some of the mounting scenarios include direct-to-glass mounting for the best possible solar harvesting scenario, as well as options such as snap-on brackets, and window-jam mounts.
Hunter Douglas offers the Solar Charger Kit is a choice of black or white finishes.
