What Did CEDIA Announce?

CEDIA will host the RP32: Audio System Measurement and Verification Workshop for the first time in North America as part of the CEDIA Education Conference at CEDIA Expo 2026. The Association for Smart Home Professionals is bringing the full-day course to a broader audience of integrators looking to strengthen their technical skills. It marks the debut of hands-on RP32 training in the region.

Who Is Teaching the Workshop?

Three industry experts will lead the RP32 Workshop, each bringing hands-on integration experience to the room. The instructors are Adam Pelz, owner and president of Bespoke Cinemas; Matt Poes, owner of Poes Acoustics; and Tom Dellicompagni, owner of Dellicompagni. Their combined background spans acoustics, cinema design and system verification across residential and commercial work.

What Is RP32?

RP32 is CEDIA’s latest Recommended Practice, outlining objective, repeatable methods for measuring and verifying audio system performance. It gives integrators a structured process to confirm that completed systems meet the intended design goals and client expectations. The practice brings consistency to a step that has long varied from one integrator to the next.

How Does RP32 Connect to RP22?

RP32 incorporates verification against the performance parameters defined in CEDIA RP22: Immersive Audio System Design. That link lets integrators demonstrate whether a finished system achieves the targeted RP22 performance level. In practice, it closes the loop between how a system is designed and how it performs once installed.

What Does the Workshop Cover?

The workshop introduces the recommended procedures of RP32 and gives participants practical experience with a range of measurement tools and software. Attendees will learn how to gather reliable data, interpret results and document system performance in a consistent, professional manner. The course suits both residential and commercial applications and supports newer practitioners as well as experienced professionals who want a recommended practice-based approach to verification.

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe and apply the RP32 methodology
  • Perform objective, repeatable system measurements
  • Verify performance against RP22 parameters
  • Document and communicate results clearly

Why Does This Matter for Integrators?

The workshop gives integrators practical skills they can apply immediately across both residential and commercial projects. It equips professionals with measurement and verification procedures that support more consistent, reliable system performance.

“CEDIA Expo is the ideal place to introduce the RP32 Workshop to a broader audience of industry professionals looking to strengthen their technical expertise,” says Paul Dolenc, vice president of education and training at CEDIA. “This hands-on course gives attendees practical experience with measurement and verification procedures that support more consistent, reliable system performance. Participants will walk away with valuable skills they can apply immediately across both residential and commercial projects.”

When and Where Is the RP32 Workshop?
