Wilson Audio Mezzo speaker
Wilson Audio says that its new Mezzo L/C/R speaker is engineered to provide homeowners with a tonally accurate loudspeaker that can be used for a variety of applications.
When combined with a quality amplifier Wilson Audio’s new 4-ohm Mezzo L/C/R speaker offers audio enthusiasts a 96dB efficient speaker that is capable of producing a frequency response as broad as 20Hz to 22kHz.
There are few names in the world of consumer audio more respected than the Provo, Utah-based manufacturer Wilson Audio. Wilson is well known in audiophile circles for its range of high-performance speakers that can be used for dedicated two-channel and full, large array home theater systems.
Wilson Audio's latest product is designed for multimedia/great room installations where the speaker needs to blend into a home environment and/or home theater system. The new Mezzo loudspeaker is a low-profile design that incorporates two 8-inch woofers, a single 7-inch midrange driver and a 1-inch inverted-dome tweeter. Wilson says the speaker employs a nearly identical driver configuration to its Sasha W/P freestanding loudspeaker with the exception of the midrange driver, which uses the same cone as the company's Alexandria X-2 loudspeaker. The speaker can be used in a home theater system as a center channel, left/right main speaker or as rear surround speakers, and it can also be installed into a dedicated two channel system.
Wilson rates the speaker's nominal impedance at 4-ohms and its minimum impedance at 2.8 ohms, and it says it is 96dB efficient. In addition, the company says the speaker is also capable of providing full frequency audio spectrum playback with a frequency response rating of 20Hz to 22kHz.
