ViewSonic VP3D1 3D converter box
The VP3D1 3D video converter from ViewSonic incorporates two HDMI 1.4 inputs and a 1.3 input to ensure its compatibility with 3D-ready DLP projectors.
ViewSonic’s VP3D1 is a $300 upgrade that installers can use to add 3D video to their clients’ 3D-ready projection-based home theater systems.
There's no doubt that the public is interested in 3D content. Movie gate receipts and the success of movies like Avatar, Tangled and How to Train a Dragon verify the format's growing popularity and the increasing amounts of 3D Blu-ray disc releases and programming availability from broadcast service providers are providing more options for consumers.
ViewSonic's new VP3D1 HD Video box is designed to provide owners of 3D-ready DLP-based projectors the ability to watch 3D content. Viewsonic says the converter features dual HDMI 1.4a inputs and a 1.3 HDMI output to ensure compatibility with a wide range of display devices.
The converter works with gaming, Blu-ray and broadcast content, and ViewSonic adds the device works with its Pro8450w, Pro8500, PJD6251, PJD6531, as well as other DLP-based products.
