Power Problems? Innovolt’s Power Audit to the Rescue
Plug in a $50 power-protection module, evaluate it with the Innovolt Power Doctor, and fix the problem with the appropriate power-protection system.
Innovolt, developer of power protection and management products, has just the solution: a new Power Audit program.
All Innovolt power-protection products, including the $50 Current Voltage Surge Suppressor, have built-in microprocessors that collect data on power quality.
Plug one of these devices into a troublesome outlet – better yet into one outlet on every circuit – and wait a couple of weeks.
Then come back with Innovolt’s Power Doctor Disturbance Tool to see what’s going on with the home’s power.
The Power Doctor is a two-piece tool comprising a handheld reader and software. The reader absorbs the data from the power-protection devices and the software evaluates the information.
“It will tell you which of the five major power conditions occurred,” says Innovolt’s Michael Maziar.
That information, in turn, will suggest which of Innovolt’s power protection devices are most appropriate for any given circuit.
Maziar says that the average sale resulting from a Power Audit is about $1,000 with some dealers reporting much greater results.
Innovolt is demonstrating the solution at the Electronic House Expo (EHX) this week in Orlando, Fla.

Looks like I missed the boat again. ![]()
It will be cool if you could get the data saved on a laptop for incorporating the results in other reports.
(Maybe they should incorporate a “Buy Now” button on each device that allows the consumer to send a purchase request to the integrator with the push of a button when they are sufficiently annoyed by the power hickups etc.)
Wow, only one device that’s rack-mountable and that one device is a screwy 3.75” high instead of the industry-standard 2RU 3.5” high.
Missed the boat on that one, huh guys?
Used the product, great, does what it supposed to do. No issues. If a product is working as it should the customer will never see a power hicup. YEA!!
To Tech Source, yes there is software that you upload the Power Doctor too for reports and other data needs. Usb connection.
Reply to J, once you take off the feet it is standard rack height. New model coming soon that is only one rack u high.
Give it a try and compare to the big guys.

I spoke with them yesterday at the show, a very interesting approach to both power analysis and power protection. They said the technology was developed at Georgia Tech, so it’s not some BS. I think I’ll be getting some of their products to help clients understand the need for power protection.
Julie,
I’ll see you on the floor today for the $1mil…..
