The BD7003, which follows up the BD8002 Blu-ray Player ($1,999.99), will be out in November for $799.
This certainly won't help further lower the Blu-ray price index, which has
dropped three straight weeks and
12 percent overall in September, according to PriceSCAN.
The BD7003 features HDMI 1.3a (with Deep Color), Bonus View and 1080p upscaling of DVDs.
Supported audio formats include:
- Dolby Digital Plus
- Dolby True HD
- DTS HD Master Audio
The BD7003 has a secondary audio and video decoder for simultaneous playback of a second track.
Marantz also points out that information such as subtitles, audio streams, trailers and more can be downloaded online and stored on a SD card to use on the Blu-ray player.
